Mandatory e-Prescribing in North Carolina

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper signed the Strengthen Opioid Misuse Prevention (STOP) Act into law on June 29th, 2017. The Act requires targeted Schedule II and Schedule III controlled substances to be electronically prescribed by January 1st, 2020.

North Carolina Controlled Substances Prescription Monitoring:

All prescribers and dispensers are required to consult the state PMP prior to prescribing or dispensing any schedule II or schedule III controlled substance for the first time and at regular intervals thereafter for patients on long-term opioid therapy.

Our iCoreRx eprescription software offers the ability to integrate with the NC Controlled Substances Reporting System (CSRS) to streamline the process of checking the PMP during the prescribing workflow. Through the integration, prescribers can go directly to the patient's PMP report without having to log in to the PMP and search for the patient. North Carolina offers this integration for no additional fees.

iCoreRx offers the ability to integrate with Texas PMP AwareRxe to streamline the process of checking the PMP during the prescribing workflow. Through this integration, prescribers can go directly to the patient's PMP report without having to log in to the PMP and search for the patient. Contact us for more information or fill out the trial request form above to get started today.
